Black Country Housing Group (BCHG) is excited to be working with Excelsior Land Ltd to deliver eight brand new homes at Payne Street and one at Birmingham Road, both located in Rowley Regis.
Development of these two sites form part of BCHG’s growing development programme. Over half of these properties are located in the Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) district.
Earlier this month, Councillor Kerrie Carmichael and Councillor Suzanne Hartwell, from SMBC, alongside BCHG Chief Executive, Amanda Tomlinson, and Deputy Chief Executive, Adrian Eggington, were invited to the ground breaking ceremony of our new development on Payne Street.
Both development sites’ homes will be constructed using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), ‘off site’ using timber frame. This construction method carries several benefits including:
- lower embodied emissions of materials
- lower emissions from transport to site
Additionally, electrical vehicle (EV) charging points will be installed at Birmingham Road and at one property on Payne Street.
Heating and hot water will be provided by electricity using solar panels, electric combination boilers and battery storage, reducing energy bills for any future tenants.
As part of our new Strategic Plan for 2023-2026, we have committed to improve and develop more energy efficient homes mitigating climate change and fuel poverty.
